As I sit here typing away on my phone, I can't help but feel a twinge of frustration. You see, there's a game out there that I've been dying to play - it's the only thing I can think about lately. But there's one problem: it's only available on PC. And unfortunately for me, I don't have a PC.
I've been saving up for what seems like forever, but every time I get close to having enough money for a decent computer, something comes up. My car breaks down, I have to pay for textbooks for school, or I need to replace a broken appliance in my apartment. It seems like there's always something preventing me from reaching my goal.
And so, I'm left with my trusty phone. It's a great phone, don't get me wrong - but it's just not the same as playing games on a big computer screen. I've tried finding similar games on Android, but they're just not the same.
I know it sounds silly to get so worked up over a game, but sometimes it feels like it's the only thing I have to look forward to. I work long hours at a job I don't love, and my social life is pretty non-existent. So, when I hear about a new game that I think I'll really enjoy, it's like a little glimmer of hope.
But for now, I'll just have to make do with what I have. I'll keep typing away on my phone, daydreaming about the day when I can finally afford a PC and play all the games I've been missing out on. And who knows - maybe one day I'll look back on this time and laugh, remembering how silly it was to get so worked up over a game. But for now, it's important to me, and that's all that matters.
the game froze for me on the scene when nanna brings out your food
i did not get an error code tho so there isnt any more i can tell you
Thank you for this report, we will look into this and see if we can find anything that may cause it on our end.
I don't know what kind of software you used for this game, but I can definitely tell it's very much not designed for it. It seems to be RPG software, but that really does not work well for visual novels. Might I suggest Ren'Py instead? You do say it's a Visual Novel/RPG hybrid, but so far I haven't seen any RPG content. The engine doesn't allow saves in VN mode, so I'm assuming you actually need to get through the *entire* VN portion to save in an RPG section -- but I don't have the slightest clue how far in that would be.
I'm glad you brought this topic up, After Dark is designed to save automatically at the end of each day, this is to help ensure your actions and decisions have consequences, some come into effect sooner rather than later. Given only day 1 is available at the moment we haven't seen this action as yet, but rest assured with the next few days release, you will see it often.
Uh ok, have fun reducing your player count by like 80%.
Unless your days are shorter than 10 minutes each, not being able to save will be a pain in the ass. There's a reason why VNs have tons of freely accessible saves.
you might want to consider some kind of quick save so i can take a break w/o changing my choices, i know for me personally my adhd i just cant play a vn for very long
Ok, its very interesting, has several serious and "Dark" tones showcased in this DEMO.
My only grips with it was the game running on fullscreen and how loud the game sound was set right when opening it the first time.
Characters, from what was showed, design wise and personality wise were fine. Id say MC doesnt deserve a good friend like that, but it will probably make up for good upcoming storytelling
nevertheless keep the good work, great premise
I'm also not a fan of it automatically starting out full screen. For some reason the game opened on my smaller monitor, when all other games always start up on the bigger monitor automatically, so I can't figure out how to fix this. No way to open a menu while playing the game that I've been able to find (which is driving me crazy). Definitely some QOL improvements could be made here.
I seem to be having trouble with the file. I'm trying to open the archive with WinOpener, but there doesn't seem to be anything to extract/unpack..?
Have you tried using different extraction programs? (Winrar, 7zip etc)? please let us know if this does not resolve your issue
Yeah, 7zip worked fine.
I swear WinOpener worked fine with .rar before, but I might be misremembering. But thanks for the help! I'm excited to check this out!
I'd really love to be able to play it, but it seems to use "Tyrano-Script" and that isn't compatible with WINE (WINdows Emulator) on Linux, I've found in other games already *sighs sadly*
Sorry to hear you're having this issue, We're currently looking at developing Linux and IOS/Android versions for these platforms which may assist with your issue. We don't have a timeframe as yet, but it will be posted both on itch and twitter as soon as it's available
when will it release for mobil
I can't seem to progress past the shower? once the shower noise ends it just sits there, black and silent.
Hmm, files indicate this is 5 years in the making, appreciate the commitment
Not seeing any sub-options on Patreon - wanted to throw some extra support. :(
could you please add platform tags people on the itch.io lancher can't download it without them
Thank you for your comment, I have added the windows tag. We're currently looking at developing Linux and IOS/Android versions for these platforms
Wow, that's a very neat Cover image.
And it gives very strong Blackgate vibe (a game we all wanted but never finished).
Good luck on the development!
Thank you! Our artist HypoNova does amazing work! If you'd like to see more of his work you can find it Here
